Making the Innocent World Crochet Headdress from GLB 15/GLB Extras #1
Innocent World Crochet Headdress in GLB #15
I'm a longtime knitter, newer crocheter, and I had a heck of a time with this Innocent World crochet headdress because of an error in one of the charts! Nevertheless, I think the headdress is so cute and the pattern is not too difficult once the charting error is corrected, so I figured it was worth writing up my experience and sharing the more detailed pattern from GLB Extras #1, which doesn't seem to be available online at present. (There is, however, a Ravelry page, if you like to keep track of your projects there.)

Here's the pattern in GLB Extras #1, which has tons of detail for those newer to crochet! I'd recommend working from this pattern. There's just one issue: the diamond mesh stitch that forms the base of the headdress has two extra chain stitches between odd and even rows. Not to worry! There's a great tutorial on how to do this common crochet stitch that uses the same number of base stitches (17) by Magic Owl Studios. So start here, not the mesh chart, when you begin the headdress. Once you've completed the mesh panel, it's smooth sailing from there on.
